Friends,

When I first arrived in Congress, I was stopped more than once and told: “Spouses aren’t allowed on the House floor.” I had to explain to them I was a sitting member of Congress.

Today, there are more women in Congress than ever – including 93 House Democrats strong – and the faces of power are changing in front of our very eyes.

We are standing on the shoulders of women who have shaped American society throughout our history as we fight back against the attacks on our rights and for a future where our daughters are able to rise higher than the shattered glass ceilings of the past.

This International Women’s Day, we are recognizing the progress we’ve made and using it as inspiration to keep fighting for equality.

I believe we are at a pivotal moment in our history. Our actions in this moment will determine how we move forward on critical issues like access to abortion and reproductive health care, paid family leave, child care and more opportunities for women. The future of the women’s rights movement is on the line in our next election.

As the new Democratic Whip, I’m asking you to please donate as much as you can to help us keep moving forward.

Happy Women’s History Month!

- Rep. Katherine Clark
