Dear Neighbor,
March is Women’s History Month—and today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day.
During this time, I am proud to celebrate the many trailblazing women—in California and across the country—who have fought to build a brighter and better future for us all.
We have more women serving in Congress than ever before. There are now four women on the United States Supreme Court, and we finally have a woman in the White House.
But our work is not finished.
We need to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect the right to choose under federal law and prevent further attacks on our reproductive rights.
We must keep fighting to end workplace discrimination and ensure women receive equal pay for equal work.
Finally, we need to enact federal universal paid family leave that expands California’s paid leave guarantee. This would help ease the burden on caregivers—often women—who sacrifice so much for their loved ones.
As your Congresswoman, I am honored to recognize all those women who have dedicated their lives to the fight for equality and justice.
I will keep fighting until we can deliver equal opportunity for women and for all Americans.
Sincerely,
Linda T. Sánchez Member of Congress
