Vaccine outreach training coming soon and new resources to share
Dear John,
Today is International Women’s Day, and we are thankful for the leadership of PIF partners whose work focuses on women and girls. Our work is intersectional at its core, and gender-based barriers compound immigration status barriers facing women and girls in immigrant families. We are inspired by women leading national, state, and local partner organizations working to improve access to health care and social services for women and girls in immigrant families.
Training: Vaccine outreach in Immigrant Communities
We are excited to partner with PIF member Clinica Romero [[link removed]] for a free health promoters training on COVID and flu vaccine outreach. Participants will work with seasoned promoters and a member of the PIF team, exploring strategies to address immigration-related vaccination concerns, as well as field-tested approaches to encourage immigrant families to get vaccinated. Participants will receive a certificate of completion. These interactive workshops are available in Spanish and English. Click the buttons below to register for either or both. [[link removed]]

Partner Highlight: PIF Illinois
Shoutout to our PIF Illinois partners, who produced a great, interactive Facebook Live on the Biden public charge regulation. Airing in late January, the bilingual (English/Spanish) event was hosted by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights [[link removed]] (ICIRR) and featured presentations by Enlace Chicago [[link removed]] , the Shriver Center on Poverty Law [[link removed]] , and other PIF Illinois members, as well as a real-time Q&A with local residents. Request: Share Your Five-Year Bar Resources
Later this spring, we eagerly anticipate the reintroduction of the Lift the Bar Act (LTBA) to eliminate the 5-year bar that prohibits lawfully present immigrants from accessing public benefits. To get ready, we are updating our materials and refreshing our tools. Have you done a fact sheet, graphic or analysis on the 5-year bar and the impact on the community? Did you do a letter of support or any meetings on the LTBA in the last Congress? PLEASE send them our way. We would like to feature them on our LTB Resources Hub [[link removed]] and to highlight them in future publications! Send materials to Lena ( [email protected] [[email protected]] ). Tax Benefits: ITIN Outreach in Mam
El Tímpano, a hyperlocal news outlet serving the Bay Area’s Mam-speaking and Spanish-speaking families, produced a great Facebook video based on PIF’s ITIN outreach materials [[link removed]] . Click below to watch the video. [[link removed]]
