1) Will Michigan Democrats Take Away Workers' Right To Choose?
We are not talking about abortion. We’re talking about a bill in the Michigan House that will be voted on this week to repeal the state’s Right to Work (RTW) law.
Every Democrat is expected to vote FOR the bill, which would force workers to join a union and pay dues to labor bosses AGAINST their will, or else they would lose their job.
Right to work is the law of the land in 26 states. These laws do NOT prohibit unions. There are many unions in RTW states. Right to work simply means that workers cannot be compelled to join a union.
This bill would not only take away from Michigan workers this basic right, but it would also do great damage to the state’s economy. States that have RTW laws create jobs at nearly twice the pace of states with forced union policies.
If this bill passes the House and Senate, Governor Gretchen Whitmer - a stooge of the unions - will sign it into law.

2) All We Are Saying Is Give Choice A Chance
And now shifting to some good news:
As we predicted, Arkansas is the latest state to pass a universal education savings account bill, joining Arizona, West Virginia, and Iowa – and Texas or Florida could be next.
Here’s why: Only one out of three Americans believe public education is heading in the right direction—an 8-point decline since 2021 when teacher unions shut down classes in many states.
A new Scott Rasmussen national survey shows that dissatisfied parents and taxpayers are increasingly supportive of school choice. His survey found that 56% of voters believe school choice programs offer better educational opportunities for students. Only 15% say they do not.

3) Now Even Britain Is Turning To Coal
A very mild winter has helped Britain avoid the doomsday scenario of rolling blackouts during the energy crisis. Nonetheless, a late cold snap is a reminder of just how close it came to having the lights go out.
Britain just had to use two emergency coal-fired generators to produce electricity for businesses and homes. Without coal, Britain would have had blackouts.

If this news makes you worry about the future of the planet, don't worry, be happy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy: “A new coal plant with pollution controls reduces nitrogen oxides by 83 percent, sulfur dioxide by 98 percent, and particulate matter by 99.8 percent compared to plants without controls.” Clean coal is here.
Meanwhile, China permitted more coal power plants last year than at any time in the last seven years. That’s the equivalent of about two new coal power plants per week.
So why did President Biden claim last year that: “No one is building new coal plants because they can't rely on it…We're going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar."?
How sad that the country with cleaner coal than any other - the U.S. - has political leaders who don't want to use it.

4) Down Goes Radical FCC Nominee Gigi Sohn
This was a remarkable victory for conservatives, the Fraternal Order of Police, the WSJ editorial page, the new top Republican on the Senate Commerce Committee Ted Cruz, and (humbly) your friendly HOTLINE writers.
There was nearly zero industry opposition, contrary to today's lazy media narrative.
Nonetheless, Sohn's history as a radical liberal activist, her advocacy of censorship, her clear conflict of interest from receiving a sweetheart settlement from broadcasters for the piracy company she served, and finally her "defund the police" tweets ignited broad grassroots opposition.
Ted Cruz dealt the final blow in a brilliantly managed hearing that moved Joe Manchin – long on the fence – into the no column.
Sohn was defiant in defeat: "The unrelenting, dishonest and cruel attacks on my character and my career as an advocate for the public interest have taken an enormous toll on me and my family. Unfortunately, the American people are the real losers here."
Cry us a river.
Our view: Let's just get rid of the FCC.
