John,
Mistakes are a natural part of being human. We work with survivors of child trafficking. Their journey to recovery isn’t easy and it certainly isn’t perfect. It comes with many obstacles and bumps in the road.
But after over 20 years of doing this work, we’ve seen the radical difference that it makes when a child knows someone believes in them, and they don’t have to walk alone. Because of the dependable support from people like you, we get to sit with survivors and tell them,
"We’re here for you. We believe in you and if you make a mistake, that’s okay. That’s part of life. We just get back up, learn from it, and work through it. We’re here to walk with you for as long as you need us."
When you know somebody’s there for you, it pushes you to get over that challenge, over that barrier, and to persevere. I’m reminded of one young survivor who wisely said,
Love146 never closes a case, so while we can’t make the journey to recovery easy for children, we can promise to be there with them every step of the way.
John,
I have the same hope for you. I hope you find the people who will believe in you. I hope you believe in them, too. And if you make a mistake, I hope you remember: it’s okay.
With love,
Marlena King

From March 1st through March 31st, 2023 your donations are being matched up to $14,000 (for a total of $28,000 raised) by our friends at Export Solutions.
Founded in 2002, Love146 journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow. We connect the dots to understand how vulnerability operates in the lives of children, and intervene both to care for survivors who have been harmed and ultimately to prevent harm from happening in the first place. Our work is achieved through the power of relationships and collaboration, listening to those with lived experience and diverse backgrounds, scaling proven practices, and challenging the systems that leave children vulnerable. Our prevention and survivor care work has impacted more than 70,000 young people. Our core commitment is to do what is best for children.
