We have an important FEC fundraising deadline this month, so we wanted to take a moment to explain what that means and why it is so important.

If you already understand why this is so important for Ruben’s campaign and are ready to add a donation to our total, here’s a link for you to give right away:

Otherwise, let us explain.

FEC. It stands for Federal Election Commission. It’s the organization that oversees campaign finance law.

And every three months candidates running for federal office are legally required to report how much money they’ve raised and how much of that money comes from small donations, big donations, and who those big donors are.

This is how we know Kyrsten Sinema gets so much money from payday lenders, hedge fund managers, and drug company executives.

Everyone looks at these reports, especially the press and potential endorsers.

And what we want to do when we file our first report is show elected Democrats and potential supporters the level of grassroots support Ruben’s campaign has.

If we can file a good report with lots of donors — one that shows we can win — we know that endorsements and more donations will follow. That is why this deadline is so important.

And because most of our donations come from emails like this, it means we have to ask:

Can you PLEASE contribute $5, $10 or whatever feels right for you today to Ruben Gallego’s campaign for Senate? Hopefully you understand now how important this is. The amount isn’t as important as the donation itself.

Use the link above to give, or click an amount that feels right for you today:
