Dear John,

Happy International Women’s Day to our friends around the globe challenging the unjust power dynamics that maintain inequity!  

Today our blog reflects on how colonialism, global power inequalities and women’s empowerment are intertwined.   

The legacy of colonial underdevelopment, maintained by the current economic system, has created a vastly unequal global society, which disproportionately impacts on women and girls and affects all aspects of women’s lives.

Only as a truly global community, united in the struggles, will we see equity.
