Hi there, Yesterday I had the honor of hosting Vice President Kamala Harris in Arvada and moderating a conversation between the Vice President and some truly outstanding community leaders. The key takeaway from our conversation was crystal clear: The climate crisis is the most urgent threat we face to our Colorado way of life. That’s why it was so important last year when President Biden signed the most ambitious climate measure into law in our nation’s history. It’s why I’m fighting so hard today to prevent House Republicans from repealing that law — as they’ve repeatedly threatened to do. And it’s why we must continue doing everything we can to avert the coming climate crisis and protect our communities from the effects of climate change. Truthfully, this is the issue that keeps me up at night as a mom — because as Vice President Harris said, when we talk about fighting climate change, we’re not just talking about protecting our environment. We’re also talking about protecting our neighborhoods against deadly wildfires. We’re talking about ensuring that children have clean air to breathe. We’re talking about sustaining our agriculture sector and our outdoor recreation economy. We’re talking about making sure Coloradans have the clean drinking water we need to survive. And friend, when it comes to fighting climate change, here is a hard truth we face: elections matter. The Biden-Harris administration is committed to building a clean-energy economy and safeguarding our way of life. And I’m committed to that, too. But to keep making progress, we need to stop Republicans from flipping this hotly contested congressional seat — and we need to retake the House of Representatives.
Thank you for being in this fight alongside me. -Brittany
