ACT NOW - CLICK HERE TO CALL STATE SENATORS TODAY! CALLING THEIR LOCAL OFFICES IS CRUCIAL!!
We and our allies, working in two teams, visited nearly 20 senators or aides in Sacramento. Many senators are worried about SB 50. They know it's an unpredictable law that affects 21 million homeowner families, and 18 million renter families.
Scott Wiener, its author, was hit hard this week by tenants' rights and equity groups who sent a mass letter condemning SB 50.
Now Sen. Wiener's getting hit by State of California data showing that most of California's populous counties WILL SURPASS state-mandated housing approvals by 2025. Sen. Wiener has not been straight with us: most big counties are moving fast. They WILL exceed housing goals!
If we can stop SB 50 from approval in the state Senate by next Friday, Jan. 31, it will be dead for good!
