On the very first day of the 2023 legislative session, Florida Republicans wasted no time in filing a 6-week abortion ban. This bill is essentially a total ban on abortion, as most people do not realize they are pregnant before 6 weeks. Florida Republicans are relentless in putting people in harm’s way and infringing on our personal freedoms. Ruth’s List mission to elect women who will protect reproductive rights in our state is now more urgent than ever. We know the only way to stop these horrific attacks on our bodily autonomy by Republicans is to elect Democratic pro-choice women to all levels of office. While we will be closely watching the movement of this legislation, one thing is clear: the charge of Ruth’s List has never been more important. We will continue to recruit, train, and elect Democratic pro-choice women who will stand against these dangerous and harmful assaults, but we can’t do it without your support.
