Paul Vallas is as bad as it gets. As head of Chicago's public schools, he depleted the teachers' pension fund, closed critical neighborhood schools, and consistently put profit over educating kids. Republican donors and the head of the Fraternal Order of Police support him, including their leader, who openly praised the January 6 rioters.
His opponent, Our Revolution-backed Brandon Johnson, is a former union organizer and teacher committed to providing "reliable transportation, good paying jobs, affordable housing" to Chicago's residents.
