Republicans are only working for the rich
Team,
Republicans want you to believe that an epidemic of ‘wokeism’ has infiltrated America.
Republicans want tax cuts for the rich and big corporations. They don’t want the IRS looking into their super-rich campaign donors. Some want to put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block. And the GOP is holding hostage the full faith and credit of the United States, risking the health of the entire economy.
It’s not a popular agenda. To sell it, they’re relying on a new magic word: “woke.”
The GOP plan is to label everything that’s good for working people “woke” and then cut its funding.
Housing, public schools, job training, auditing tax cheats, Medicaid, and health insurance — all at risk. But handouts for the wealthy and well-connected? Not “woke,” according to Republicans.
House Republican budget proposals work for the tax cheats, the polluters, and the wealthy few.
I’m asking today: can you make a donation of $5 or more to my campaign? Your contribution supports my work to protect middle-class priorities and the health of the entire economy from Republican attacks.
If the GOP gets its extreme agenda, the word “woke” won’t keep Americans from recognizing that they can’t afford their prescription drugs or get their disability benefits.
The woke screen is a smoke screen, and we should see right through it.
Sincerely,
Sheldon Whitehouse
