Friend,

Did you know that the entire New York City Council is up for reelection this year? It's true — and it means we have a chance to make a real difference for our local communities.

I'm committed to electing leaders from the communities they represent — and who know first hand how much this work matters.

I've been the first many times throughout my career: The first Latina appointed to the City Council, the first Puerto Rican woman elected to the United States House of Representatives, and the first Latina to chair a full Congressional Committee. But I certainly don't want to be the last.

That's why I've helped build a progressive movement here in New York, supporting leaders such as Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, a whole slate of progressive, Latina City Coucilmembers, and State Senators including the newly elected Kristen Gonzalez.

And it's paid off: New York City has expanded abortion access, invested in housing justice, and passed historic legislation to protect immigrant workers. Our movement has elected progressive champions at every level — and we're ready to do it again in June.

I'll keep showing up however I can, but I need you by my side. Will you invest in me so I can continue this fight? [[link removed]]

Together,
Nydia
