John, America’s growing tensions with the Chinese Communist Party stem from their efforts to spy on our nation, to steal intellectual property and undercut American competitiveness, to push “digital fentanyl” to our kids via TikTok, and smuggle actual fentanyl across our southern border. Mike understands the growing national security threat we face. That’s why he’s come out swinging against the CCP for bringing us into the New Cold War. Every month, we bring you the latest from around the globe. You can give to Mike here and check out his work on international issues below. |
Bottom Line: “When we think about how to deter the Chinese Communist Party, it’s useful to think about how you deal with a bully—by getting your friends together and standing up.” |
Bottom Line: "They buy our politicians, multinational organizations, companies and in some cases, law enforcement. They use muscle and threats instead of persuasion. And like the Mafia, they aren't afraid to make people disappear." |

|
Bottom Line: “I don't think the Chinese Communist Party would hesitate to shoot down an American asset that was in their airspace.” |
Bottom Line: “Letting a Chinese surveillance balloon lazily drift over America is like seeing a robber on your front porch and inviting him in, showing him where you keep your safe, where you keep your guns, where your children sleep at night, and then politely asking him to leave. It makes no sense.” |
Bottom Line: “The American people need to understand the way in which the Chinese Communist Party is trying to, if not destroy us completely, undermine us and render us subordinate, humiliated and wholly irrelevant on the world stage. It’s not an isolated incident in a hot air balloon. It’s a pattern of aggression against America, against our sovereignty, against our allies. The stakes are existential.” |
Bottom Line: “The message is: ‘Look what we can get away with. And you won’t do anything about it. You’ll still come crawling back.’” |
Bottom Line: “It’s clear they’re testing us. They’re testing our resolve. Of course, this raises the question to why didn’t we shoot down the high-altitude air balloon earlier this week when it was over the Aleutian Islands.” |
Bottom Line: “If nothing else, a cold war paradigm reminds us that we should endeavor to make sure it stays cold and doesn’t turn hot and that our core function is deterrence and preventing hot war.” |
Bottom Line: “The cyber assault on Taiwan has already begun. If we are to prevent Taiwan from suffering the same fate as Ukraine, we must work to ensure U.S. Cyber Forces are efficiently organized and operationally capable of defending our interests in cyberspace.” |
Bottom Line: "This is a sound investment in U.S. national security because not only are we defending a country from authoritarian aggression, not only are we taking one of our biggest geopolitical competitors down several notches in the process, and we're doing it without U.S. boots on the ground in harm's way, but we're also simultaneously dealing a blow to the Chinese Communist Party.” |
Bottom Line: “The legislation Rep. Krishnamoorthi and Wisconsin's Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher introduced in the House singles out TikTok and Bytedance. But it also leaves room for restrictions on social media companies housed in countries of ‘concern’ that include China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela.” |
John, Mike is working to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for bringing us into the New Cold War. |
