I’m Jess, Arena’s new Training Director, and this will be my first Arena Academy in this role. I can’t wait.

If you aren’t familiar with Arena Academy, here’s an overview: This is a five-day, virtual training designed to make it easier for those newer to politics to break in and to help seasoned campaign staff level up their skills. You can apply to one of seven tracks (Campaign Manager, Communications, Data, Digital, Fundraising, Organizing, or Organizing Director).

If accepted to Academy, you'll learn best practices from current practitioners and subject-matter experts alongside 200+ likeminded participants.

We’ll start our time together in plenary sessions covering topics relevant to all campaign staff. Then, we’ll head into track-specific sessions that are a mix of presentations and hands-on exercises. We’ll end our time together with the Arena Cup (a campaign simulation where each team competes to create the best campaign plan).

Throughout the training, we’ll hear from inspiring speakers, and you’ll have the chance to get to know your fellow trainees. When the training is over, Arena will offer resources and support to help you navigate your career in politics.

Graphic that says Arena Academy Online Thur. April 27-May 1 with the words Training, Career Support, and Community under it. there is a picture of 200 diverse people raising their arms in excitement around large cut out letters that spell Arena. Text that says Scholarships available and apply by March 19.

One of the most important things to me about Arena Academy is that it is so much more than a training. It’s a community of changemakers who will be in the trenches with you for years to come.

The work of campaigns is serious business. But with the right people by your side, it is so much fun. At Academy, you’ll meet the people who will be your confidants and champions as you navigate long hours and high-pressure moments on campaigns.

We’re building a community of leaders who will take this next election cycle by storm, and we want you there with us. Apply to Arena Academy today!

(If you're a procrastinator, the deadline is Sunday March 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET, mark your calendar!)

Thanks y’all,

Jess Weldon

Arena Training Director
