We wanted to make sure you saw this, John:
It’s true – the fight for fair redistricting isn’t over!
That’s because voters across the country are challenging gerrymandered congressional maps in their states. If they’re successful, these states could be required to implement new, fair maps before the 2024 election. Of course, Republican politicians are fighting like hell to prevent that from happening.
But remember what Attorney General Eric Holder said: “Wherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.”
That means we have two options, John:
OPTION ONE: We can grow complacent.
We can cross our fingers, and we can hope that new maps in key battleground states are fairly drawn and that map-manipulating politicians aren’t allowed to gerrymander their way into unearned power.
OPTION TWO: We can keep working to elect Democrats who support fair maps!
Ahead of the 2022 elections, the fair maps movement helped secure what The New York Times called “the fairest House map of the last 40 years.”
If we continue electing Democrats nationwide who will fight to end gerrymandering, we can help ensure the maps are even fairer in 2024!
With control of the House on a knife’s edge, new maps in a few key states could be instrumental to helping Democrats win back the majority. So please: Will you pitch in before midnight tonight to help the NDR PAC elect Democrats who will fight for fairness in Congress and states across the country?
