Our Building CommuniTEA Panel kicked off our Week of Action with ENERGY. Now it's time to flood social media to talk about the reasons Black women and girls can take their healthcare into their own hands and get tested for HIV this week.
Remember, we're trying to move away from stigmatizing language about HIV risk, and change the narrative to focus on REASONS that motivate and empower Black women and girls to address their sexual health. That's why we're using #RiskToReasons when possible (I know, Tweet character limits are hard! Check out our social media toolkit here for suggestions)
Hope to see your posts! Tag Advocates for Youth so we can follow along! And as a reminder, below is a list of online events this week. You can join as many or as few events as you’d like, but be sure to follow our Instagram here for updates.
Check out the rest of this week's schedule!
WEDNESDAY - Take Action: REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act
We’ll share information about HIV decriminalization and call on Congress to pass the REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act - a piece of legislation that would modernize laws and policies to eliminate discrimination against those living with HIV and AIDS. Join us by using this social media toolkit to post on your social media account, and share this action with your network.
THURSDAY @ 6:30pm EST - Building CommuniTEA Through Bodily Autonomy & Policy
Join us for a dynamic workshop led by Black women about how stigma, fear, and the social determinants of health impact black women's and girls' access to reproductive health and their health outcomes. In addition, we will discuss how as a CommuniTEA, we can advocate for policies like the REPEAL Act to decriminalize HIV and help decrease the stigma associated with HIV. Register here, because you don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to learn more about how to Build CommuniTEA through self-advocacy and policy.
FRIDAY - Meet our CommuniTEA Youth Ambassadors
Happy Women and Girls National HIV/AIDS Awareness Day!! Visit our Instagram page to learn more about our 10 youth activists that will be working on the CommuniTEA project.
Thank you for helping us amplify the voices of Black Women and Girls within the HIV movement.
