Dear John,
LDAD has filed an ethics complaint seeking the disbarment of Stefan C. Passantino, the lawyer representing key witness Cassidy Hutchinson before the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the US Capitol. LDAD is inviting its supporters to join the list of prominent signers, which will be submitted in a supplemental filing. You may add your name here.
The 18-page complaint meticulously sets forth the evidence against Mr. Passantino that demonstrates how he failed in his duty to represent his client and, instead, protected the best interests of the former President.

Ms. Hutchinson’s service to American democracy and the rule of law cannot be overstated. In contrast, Attorney Passantino’s efforts to obstruct and interfere with her contribution to the legislative and historical record cannot be rationalized, dismissed, or ignored if our professional code of ethics is to serve its critical purposes.
In addition to the New York Times coverage, you can read about this filing in Bloomberg Law, Newsweek, the ABA Journal, Law360, Salon, and other outlets. See our In the News page for links. Our LDAD colleague, Dennis Aftergut, also wrote in Bloomberg Law about the potential impact of this complaint on the legal profession.
The widespread media coverage demonstrates the importance of efforts to hold accountable those who sought to overturn a free and fair election, as well as those who tried to withhold credible information from a governmental body investigating one of the most consequential events in our Nation’s history.
We invite you to share this email with your networks. Your tax-deductible donations to LDAD help support our work to protect democracy and the rule of law.
We thank you for your time and attention,
