Josh Hawley wants to require EVERYONE to submit sensitive personal documents to social media companies – just for making an account!
Hi John, my name is Lucas Kunce — and I’m the 13-year Marine veteran and Democrat from Missouri running to replace Josh Hawley in the U.S. Senate.
Would you trust elites like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg with personal documents like your birth certificate or photo ID just for making an account on Twitter or Facebook? What about your kids?
Well that’s exactly what Josh Hawley’s new legislation to “protect kids online” would require us to do: Send personal documents with sensitive information to the same Big Tech companies best-known for getting hacked and abusing our data.
I’m not interested in co-parenting with Josh Hawley and his creepy Big Brother BS — and I bet you aren’t either.
Josh Hawley is so obsessed with controlling us, he'd require every American (including teen minors!) who makes a social media account to surrender the same kind of documents you’d need to get a Social Security card.
I’ve said for a long time that these social media companies have blood on their hands. They’re hurting our kids. But Hawley’s plan makes all of us less safe by giving Big Tech giants even more power over our families and even more of our personal information.
We need real action, not more campaign props from phonies like Josh. We need to end Section 230’s obscene protections for social media giants, reject the corporate judges who keep shielding Big Tech from accountability, and we need to investigate and prosecute the mega-rich corporate executives who are putting our kids in danger.
