John, “I’m not sure I belong here.” It’s a feeling many of us have contended with at one time or another—at work, out with friends, or even in our community. A new report from Over Zero and the American Immigration Council shows that we’re not alone in that feeling. In fact, two-thirds of Americans report a sense of “nonbelonging” in their everyday lives. And there are costs associated with it. In a first-of-its-kind report, “The Belonging Barometer: The State of Belonging in the US” shows why belonging matters profoundly—for all of us, across all the areas of our lives. In addition to providing a clear way to measure belonging across a range of contexts, it offers important insights and resources that can help communities and individuals tackle this issue head-on.
We hope you’ll join us in creating an America where everyone feels like they belong. |
