State Republican Executive Committee member Christin Bentley is putting in the work to shine a light on some of the
sexually explicit and violent books that are on display in our public school libraries. Bentley is committing to
send one book title with explicit content found in Texas schools to state lawmakers every day the state legislature remains in
session. Books like “Boy Toy,” “Assassination Classroom,” “The Handmaid’s Tale - The Graphic
Novel,” “This Book Is Gay” – just to name a few.
The FCC would block this content as indecent and profane if it was aired on radio or television, so why is it readily available for elementary
school students across Texas?

If passed, House Bill 1655 by Rep. Patterson would prohibit sexually explicit books
from being in our school libraries. We are calling on all of our elected Republican state representatives to take action this session and stop the
