Hi John,
I'm Noelia, immigrant & equity advocate, former social worker, renter, Latina, single mom, and now — with the help of Run for Something — San Mateo County Supervisor.
I took this office ready to fight with everything I have for the rights of renters, to expand mental health services, to defend our immigrant communities, and so much more.
Before I could do
any of this, I had to envision myself in office.
And if you're a young, progressive woman of color, I want you to See Yourself Running too.
Join me and other amazing RFS alums for “See Yourself Running: Realities of Running as a Woman of Color” TONIGHT at 8 p.m. ET. Sign up now to get empowered and inspired at this FREE event.
Before I decided to run for supervisor, I was in one of the most difficult moments of my life. Right before the pandemic, I experienced firsthand the impact of unjust housing policies when my own family was evicted. Even though I lived in one of the wealthiest counties in California, many people had only a minimal safety net, especially during the pandemic.
Run for Something helped give me the courage, power, and hope to turn my pain into action and become the first Latina elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors.
Women of color face so many barriers to running in the first place, which is why we're partnering with some incredible organizations and speakers to host this event.
We'll be joined by other powerful women who have broken down barriers of their own, including
Rep. Ruwa Romman, the first Muslim woman ever elected to the Georgia Assembly.
Join me, Rep. Romman, and our partners Emerge, She Should Run, and Her Bold Move TONIGHT to hear powerful stories, build community, and get all your questions answered about what it's like to Run for Something as a woman of color.
See you tonight!
Noelia Corzo
San Mateo County Supervisor, District 2
