Dear Friend,
Today is the first day of Florida’s legislative session and we’re excited to welcome our freshman legislators — and welcome back our alumni — to the state capitol. With Democrats in the super minority, this will not be an easy session, and many of the issues we care deeply about are at stake. Thankfully we’ve sent these remarkable women to Tallahassee, and they are ready to get to work fighting to protect our freedom, especially when it comes to reproductive rights.
Last session the Florida GOP passed a 15-week abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or human trafficking, and we already know they’re planning to introduce a 6-week ban with support from Gov. DeSantis. Without the federal protection of Roe v. Wade , this could be the fatal blow to reproductive rights in Florida.
Ruth’s List is committed to electing and reelecting Democratic pro-choice women to the state legislature. Will you commit to being a monthly donor in honor of the start of the session today? [[link removed]]

Many of the policies Republican leaders are trying to pass, a six-week abortion ban, could become law for the long term. It’s more imperative now than ever that we have strong voices fighting to protect reproductive freedom in Florida.
If you’re able, please click here to support our efforts and become a monthly donor. [[link removed]]
With your support, we can continue to send strong Democratic pro-choice women to Tallahassee. And we can continue to fight back against the restrictive and dangerous abortion bans.
Onward,
