We know we ask you to pitch in to our campaign every so often, but do you know why?
We ask because thousands of $5 donations from emails like this one helped Tammy win reelection in 2018 in a state that went to Donald Trump just two years earlier.
It was $5 that helped us flip the Senate majority in 2020 and hold onto it in 2022, allowing us to pass landmark legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act to address rising costs, combat the climate crisis, and lower prescription drug prices.
And it was $5 that allowed Congress to pass Tammy’s historic legislation to protect marriage equality. The Respect for Marriage Act requires the government to recognize the validity of same-sex and interracial marriages. That’s a big deal.
We know five bucks might not seem like a lot, especially when you compare it to National Republicans’ jaw-dropping fundraising hauls. But to us, every $5 donation makes a huge difference — it’s what sustains our work to protect our Democratic majorities so we can keep making progress for working families.
Now, as you probably know, we’ve got a tough fight ahead of us. Cook Political Report wrote that Democrats are going to be playing defense this entire election cycle, including right here in Wisconsin.
