This isn’t just a Republican or a Democrat issue, leaders from both sides are trading stocks related to the industries they oversee. It should be simple: Members who oversee environmental issues shouldn’t be trading Exxon Mobil stock, and Members who oversee the defense industry shouldn’t be trading Boeing or Lockheed Martin stock.
Katie has been leading efforts to pass legislation which would ban Members of Congress and their spouses from trading stocks, and she’s determined to make sure the legislation has a real and serious penalty for breaking the law.
