John -
Democrats have a distinct advantage that we have failed to effectively
mobilize: the power of volunteers.
Our party is made up of people that are passionate about achieving a
better society for all. Folks like that are willing to give something of
themselves with no promise of reward, simply because it is the right
thing to do.
As a party, it's our great responsibility to put our volunteers in a
position to succeed and to be good stewards of the precious time and
energy they are offering. At the heart of ROCC is a vision of empowering
each activist in their skills, interests, and desires to affect the
positive change they seek.
ROCC makes activism simple, enjoyable, and effective. In each forum we
advance projects, build toolkits and guide the activist into specific
opportunities unique to their communities.
Imagine a directory specific to each state documenting every active
project by region and issue. Imagine a listing of community contacts who
can help you run for local office, understand local government, and be
advised of important opportunities. Then, imagine the possibility to
give opportunities that will directly impact and address the needs of
the volunteers, and organize them into effective work. The kind of work
that we know we need, but lack the cohesion to tackle.
ROCC aims to make sure we have very specific answers every time a rural
Democrat steps forward and asks: "How can I help?". [ [link removed] ]Help us to keep
