Here are some updates from the last few days. |
Today, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held oral argument in a case about a Texas law that requires voters to register to vote with a “wet signature,” meaning written with pen on paper. Read a summary of the argument here.

Also today, the secretaries of state of Missouri, Florida and West Virginia withdrew from the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), a nonprofit organization that allows states to share information to help maintain accurate voter rolls.

On Friday, March 3, the pro-voting parties submitted their briefs in two previously decided cases, Holmes v. Moore and Harper v. Hall, that the North Carolina Supreme Court’s newly elected GOP majority agreed to rehear. The cases deal with a photo ID law and partisan gerrymandering, respectively.
