I promise to make this quick, John.
With Democrats fighting to hang onto our razor-thin Senate majority, Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight says that the GOP has a clear path to retake control. They only need to flip two seats — and after Republicans won more races in New York last November than they have in two decades, they’re targeting my seat as a key pickup opportunity.
That’s why this is such a big problem: My team just updated me that we’re way behind our $15,000 fundraising goal. If we don’t close the gap before our deadline, we could get outpaced by the GOP megadonor machine right at the beginning of this tough reelection fight.
I don’t take any money from corporate PACs, which means I’m relying entirely on grassroots support from people like you. So please, will you rush $20 or more now — split between my campaign and 1973 Action Fund — to help me reach this goal before midnight, defeat the GOP in New York and keep the Senate blue?
Thank you for coming through in such a critical moment,
Kirsten Gillibrand
