Last year, I introduced the Fair Housing Improvement Act of 2022 to combat housing discrimination and expand access to affordable housing. My bill would add “source of income” and “veteran status” to the list of protected classes under the Fair Housing Act.

Housing insecurity still permeates communities across the country, and that’s why I will soon reintroduce this important legislation. I’m continuing to fight against housing discrimination and ensure that every American has access to safe and affordable housing.

The Fair Housing Improvement Act will help veterans and low-income families facing the increasingly high cost of rent – hard-working people who desperately need our help. The time to act is right now.
