Democratic AGs are taking action to make abortion pills more accessible.
Friend,
Since the Supreme Court’s devastating decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, anti-abortion activists and politicians have continued their attacks to dismantle abortion access even further. Right now, they’re in court trying to end the FDA’s approval of mifepristone, one of two medications most commonly used in medication abortion. Mifepristone is safe, effective, and has been used by more than five million people since the FDA approved it more than 20 years ago.
Despite evidence that mifepristone is safer than Tylenol, burdensome restrictions on prescribing and dispensing mifepristone — restrictions known as REMS — expose patients to needless anguish and confusion. The restrictions also subject providers to bureaucratic oversight that makes providing care much more complicated than necessary. That’s why Dem AGs across the country are taking action and suing to make abortion pills more accessible.
In the suit, these Dem AGs are suing the FDA for unnecessarily singling out mifepristone for these excessive regulations.
Here are the facts, friend — the FDA has approved mifepristone as a safe and effective medication for two decades. There’s no reason it should be under the same restrictions as a dangerous and lethal drug like fentanyl.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
