I’m freshman Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texans from Austin to
San Antonio…and proudly endorsed by the PCCC during my campaign!
This past week, Democrats introduced the most important piece of pro-union
legislation in Congress -- the PRO Act (Protecting the Right to Organize
Act).
The bill gives people the right to join a union, instead of making it a
fight to join a union. If we want to tackle wealth inequality in this
country, the PRO Act is a game changer for workers.
[ [link removed] ]Will you sign on as a public supporter of the PRO Act? I will share
your support with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle so they can see
how popular this is.
Here are three of the most important provisions of the PRO Act:
1. Bans union busting -- including closed door meetings where bosses can
get workers together in the middle of the workday, and tell them they
shouldn’t join a union. The PRO Act has real penalties for union
busting activity.
2. Gets rid of "right to work for less" laws in places like Texas that
hurt unions’ financial ability to protect their workers.
3. Requires employers to come to the table and negotiate a fair contract
when workers finally win a union. When workers win new wages, it
inspires more union organizing activity.
In this country, the majority of workers would join a union if they had
the choice. But only about 10% of Americans are in a union – because we
lack laws like the PRO Act.

my colleagues in Congress how much support there is for unions and
workers.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
