Hey John, something huge is happening in El Paso. 👀

We’ll explain a little more below, but if you want to be the first to join our fight for climate justice in El Paso, RSVP now to our virtual El Paso Climate Charter campaign launch next Wednesday, March 8 at 5pm MST/ 7pm ET.

You may be wondering, what’s the El Paso Climate Charter? Why is it so important? And why should I care?

Well, John it’s no exaggeration to say that this is a HUGE moment for our movement.

Let’s recap: in 2022, Sunrise El Paso, Ground Game Texas, and many organizers on the ground fought hard to create the El Paso Climate Charter — a groundbreaking climate initiative that would bring this border community one huge step closer to a Green New Deal. Young people gathered over 40,000 signatures to get the charter on the ballot, and this May, the people of El Paso will vote yes or no on a policy that will invest in renewable energy, create good jobs and address pollution in their city.

Sunrise El Paso is organizing right in Big Oil’s backyard, and we know the fossil fuel industry won’t go down without a fight. They might have money, but we’ve got people and it’s going to take everything we’ve got to make the El Paso Climate Charter law.

This is our chance to help young Sunrisers in El Paso fight back against the rich, corrupt politicians, and some of the largest corporations in the world before it’s too late.

Can you take the first step and join us at our virtual El Paso Climate Charter campaign launch next Wednesday, March 8 at 5pm MST/ 7pm ET? We’ll tell you all about what’s going on in El Paso and how YOU can get involved in this final stretch.

A win like this in El Paso would have a ripple effect across the country. If we can prove that on-the-ground organizing, and Green New Deal-style legislation can win in fossil fuel country, the possibilities from here are endless.

More soon,

Michele
