The Governor's signature education bill bans books, attacks curriculum & teachers, and requires schools to out students just to make them feel different. This is more than a book ban: it’s about erasing LGBTQ+ people in our state.

Senate File 496 passed the Senate Education Committee last week, which means it could be debated on the Senate floor at any time. We've got to make sure every senator knows that Iowans oppose this bad bill.

These bills are clearly more about scoring political points and making sure Iowa keeps up with states like Florida, South Dakota and Alabama in the race to the bottom. Even debating these divisive and cruel ideas – much less passing them into law – hurts our state and makes the real challenges we face even harder to overcome.
