John,

Our healthcare system is in crisis. To get a better idea of just how
broken the system is, take a look at this:

[ [link removed] ]A headline from "In These Times" advocating for the passage of Medicare
for All.

“Guns seem to be easier and cheaper to access than treatment for the
wounds they cause. A survivor of the recent mass shooting in Half Moon
Bay, California reportedly said to Gov. Gavin Newsom that he needed to
keep his hospital stay as short as possible in order to avoid a massive
medical bill.”

We know there's a better way forward. That's why polling from Gallup
reaffirms what we've already known to be true for years now — a majority
of Americans want the government to enact Medicare for All.

[ [link removed] ]We're closer than ever and we don't plan on backing down now. If you
agree, can you chip in today to power our efforts to make Medicare for All
a reality?

For far too long, Americans' ability to access quality, affordable
healthcare has been determined by the whims of a faulty patchwork of
employer-based, individual, and government run-healthcare. Democrats
passed the Affordable Care Act, but the GOP has continued to undermine it
at every turn. The costs of care have become astronomically high while the
quality of care being received has cratered.

This has Republicans scared and scrambling to mobilize against Medicare
for All by fearmongering with misleading and outright false narratives.
But there's no amount of fearmongering the GOP and its allies can use to
distract from the glaring reality that the U.S. spends twice as much per
capita on healthcare than comparable countries.

Medicare for All could save individuals and families thousands of dollars,
undercutting the fake right-wing narrative that a single-payer system
would be too expensive. We know it, the GOP knows it, and the American
people know it.

Passing Medicare for All has never been more urgent. While the number of
uninsured Americans has dropped to a record low, thanks to legislation
like the Affordable Care Act, this alone is not enough. The road ahead
will be challenging, but our movement's determination to pass our
progressive agenda will never slow down.

Our grassroots campaign will continue to advocate and organize around the
bold solutions needed to answer the biggest issues facing working people
across the country. [ [link removed] ]Will you stand with me today, and chip in to power
our movement?

In solidarity,

Pramila
