America’s Promise Teams Up with Always & Walmart to Help #EndPeriodPoverty
America’s Promise Alliance is joining forces with Always and Walmart to help end period poverty. Research shows that nearly 1 in 5 girls in the U.S. have missed school because they don’t have access to these products. Girls are also being forced to skip the confidence-building activities they love- like karate- without having access to products like pads.
Join America’s Promise in the fight to help end period poverty. Watch the #EndPeriodPoverty video and for every view, Always will donate one pad to a girl in need, up to a total donation of 1 million pads!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
In honor of the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and our shared value of service, the America’s Promise team gave back and made this MLK Day a day on, not a day off. Our staff volunteered with Hands on D.C. and helped clean up John Hayden Johnson Middle School in Southeast Washington, D.C. We also took a moment to reflect on what service means to us and how we can help every young person achieve their full potential.
Visit our twitter page to check out videos of APA staff- like Michelle Smith- on what service means to them.
