With Republicans controlling the House of Representatives, Summer needs our support.
Just like she promised, Summer is getting right to work in Congress.
In a moment, we'll share more about Summer's first legislative actions and how she's working for racial, economic, and environmental justice. But first, we have a request: Will you make a contribution of $5 to help Summer continue to make good on her campaign promises?
Since being sworn in, Summer has joined the important Oversight and Science committees, and signed on to help advance critical legislation. Check out just some of the bills she’s co-sponsored so far:
→ Reps Chris Deluzio and Ro Khanna's Decreasing Emergency Railroad Accident Instances Locally (DERAIL) Act to broaden regulations defining high-hazard flammable trains and enforce higher safety standards.
→ Reps Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush’s Justice for All Act to ensure our laws fight discrimination and to expand and protect civil rights.
→ Rep. David Cicilline's Assault Weapons Ban to ban weapons designed for the military that have no place in our neighborhoods, take on the gun lobby, and keep people safe.
→ Rep. Jamaal Bowman's African American History Act to support African American history education programs and ensure Americans learn the truth about our country's history of racism and white supremacy.
→ Rep. Ayanna Pressley's American Opportunity Accounts Act to create federally-funded "baby bonds" to give every child a fair chance at economic mobility and help close the racial wealth gap.
Summer is committed to getting corporate money out of politics, tackling our climate crisis, advancing racial justice and equity, and creating policies that uplift our communities. But with Republicans controlling the House of Representatives, she needs our support.
