What: Senate Elections Committee Hearing on the statewide RCV bill
When: Thursday, March 9, 3:00pm CT (arrive early)
Where: Minnesota Senate Building (behind the Capitol), Room 1200
The Protect and Advance Democracy Act, SF 2270, enacts Ranked Choice Voting in primary and general elections for state and federal offices and allows local jurisdictions to adopt RCV for local elections if they choose. This is our moment to move forward on a reform that empowers voters with greater choice, makes elections more civil and inclusive, ensures majority winners, and encourages office holders to be responsive to that majority. We need urgent action to counter the divisive politics that have threatened our democracy, and RCV is a viable, proven step we can take right now.
Your presence at the hearing is critical to support RCV and counter its opponents. RSVP now to join us.
We also need you to contact Senate Elections Committee members, and let them know you want them to vote YES for the Protect and Advance Democracy Act, SF 2270! Numbers matter, and we want them to get lots of calls and emails!
For the hearing, please come early to grab an RCV t-shirt and sign –– and a good seat! We’ll be there to greet you outside the hearing room.
So grateful for your support as we move this promising legislation forward.
See you there!
Your Fairvote MN team
