Dear John,

Every life saved, every step taken toward ending the opioid epidemic is worth it. That’s why I'm fighting to increase access to methadone, an evidence-based and life-saving medicine that is proven to be incredibly effective in treating opioid use disorder. In 2022, I helped cut red tape that restricted access to it, and now I have introduced the Modernizing Opioid Treatment Access Act to make this medication accessible at neighborhood pharmacies with a doctor’s prescription. To the families of victims of this terrible epidemic, this legislation can't come soon enough. I've met with South Jersey parents who lost their child. I've lost friends and colleagues to the disease of addiction. This pain calls us to take action with an evidence-based approach, and if that work leads to a life saved in South Jersey, it will have been worth it.

What Else Am I Working On?

I secured $750,000 for Balzano Marine Terminal at the Camden port. This investment will help our infrastructure meet increased business activity. By investing in our critical infrastructure, we are increasing the capacity of our ports and local businesses to access markets not just here in South Jersey, but across the country.
I joined a bipartisan group of colleagues and labor leaders to re-introduce the Protect the Right to Organize (PRO) Act and level the playing field for workers. I’m proud to stand in support of this legislation and will continue to fight for all of America's workers. Learn more about the PRO Act here.
I was honored to watch President Biden nominate Deputy Secretary Julie Su to succeed Marty Walsh as Labor Secretary. I have every confidence that she will work with Congress and the brothers and sisters in the labor movement to advance pro-worker policies. Read my full statement here.
