- I invite you to join our new discussion series, The Lebanon Conversation, for our inaugural talk happening this Thursday March 9th from 5pm to 6pm ET. Please register HERE. The idea for “The Lebanon Conversation” grew out of one of our “Coffee and Column” sessions which featured Lebanese Members of Parliament Najat Saliba and Melhem Khalaf and journalist and filmmaker Daizy Gedeon. The response was overwhelmingly positive. We realized that Lebanese and those who hold Lebanon deep in their hearts around the world wanted and needed to have more opportunities to engage with one another on the dire situation in the country they love. And so we resolved to begin these conversations on a regular basis. For this first session we will be joined again by the two courageous Members of Parliament - who are now in the sixth week of their protest sit-in in the Parliament building. Daizy will also rejoin our conversation and will show clips of her remarkable film - Enough! Lebanon's Darkest Hour. The film exposes the corruption that is at the core of Lebanon’s crisis. Like so many of you, I have felt so helpless watching from afar as the Lebanon state goes further and further into complete dysfunction. But I have also been moved by people like Najat, Melhem, Daizy, and others, who are fighting to save Lebanon. Through their updates on the ground, we hope to learn with you how we from afar can continue to aid and support Lebanon. We hope to continue these updates on a monthly basis. Please register here to receive the dial-in information for the Zoom call Thursday March 9th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. After you register, you will automatically get the dial-in information for the call. I hope you can join us then. Regards, Jim Zogby
