We have big news! I am excited to share that Headwaters is partnering with the Bush Foundation as one of four community grantmaking partners stewarding the 2023 Bush Prize.  

The Bush Prize is an annual award that celebrates organizations that have a culture of innovation and a history of building creative solutions for challenges in their communities. Bush Prize winners in each region will receive a flexible grant of up to 25% of the organization’s last fiscal year expenses, up to $500,000. Bush Foundation is investing in community-led philanthropy by choosing four regional partners to select Bush Prize winners who are leading change in their region.  

As the grantmaking partner for Minnesota, Headwaters will continue our practice of community-led grantmaking to select Minnesota’s Bush Prize winners. We are thrilled to put Headwaters’ nearly 40 years of experience working with community to fund movements for justice to good use in this new way!  

Bush Prize: Minnesota will open in April. You can expect to hear from us soon with more information about prize criteria, how to be considered for the award, and details about information sessions we’ll be hosting to ensure eligible organizations have everything they need.
