Aguazul, Colombia
A student in Aguazul told a cafeteria worker at her school that she was pregnant--and that her mom insisted that she have an abortion.
The girl's age, her family's financial situation, and her boyfriend's disinterest in his child all played into the decision.
Fortunately, the cafeteria worker contacted 40 Days for Life participants, who met with the pregnant girl and her mom.
"After several visits, the young woman's mother understood that abortion was not the solution," reported 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "Yesterday, an ultrasound was finally performed, and they both chose life!"
