New data from the First Street Foundation shows about 13.4 million more properties in the U.S. will be vulnerable to tropical/hurricane winds in the next 30 years. The data shows that because of climate change, landfalls will move further north.
The hot new trend in personal security is the $150,000 dog. These highly trained K-9s are so popular that if you put your money down on one today, you could wait two years to get your fully trained combination companion and attack dog. In most states, dog owners are not liable to trespassers who are injured by a dog. However, a dog owner who is legally responsible for an injury to a person or property may be responsible for reimbursing the injured person for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and property damage.
The World Policy Center generated a map of the almost 50 countries in the world that have guaranteed paid paternity leave. Look closely at who is not on it. Canada, Russia, Poland, France, Italy, Bulgaria and Turkmenistan are among the countries that have paid leave laws. The United States, Cameroon, Libya, Guyana and Honduras have no such guaranteed leave for fathers. The United States is one of seven countries that have no guaranteed maternity leave, along with Tonga and the Marshall Islands.
And here’s a trend that is worth noting: After the supply-chain problems during the pandemic, China is making a big move to prevent such problems in the future.
