Earlier this year, it was my honor to be elected to serve with Representative Hakeem Jeffries on the Democratic leadership team in the House of Representatives as Democratic Caucus Chair. Unfortunately, however, everything that’s happened since then in the House has been an unmitigated disaster.
In just a few weeks, Republicans have worked to restrict abortion rights and threatened to slash Social Security. And now, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene — a QAnon believer and January 6 sympathizer — has been granted a position on the Homeland Security Committee!
That’s like putting a robber in charge of a bank. It’s blatantly counterproductive, and it’s extremely dangerous.
But now is not the time to grow complacent or get discouraged. The work to take back the Majority has already begun, and Democrats are in striking distance.
