First, let me introduce myself — I’m Esosa Osa, the Deputy Executive Director of Fair Fight Action. Every day, I work alongside our brilliant team to push for a more equitable Georgia, where every voter has the freedom to make their voice heard.
Now, I’ll tell you why I’m reaching out. Tomorrow is Crossover Day in the Georgia legislature. That’s political speak for the halfway point of the state legislative session, and the last opportunity for bills to cross over from the House to the Senate (or vice versa) to potentially become law. Lawmakers have proposed a number of voter suppression bills — including SB 221 and SB 222 — and Fair Fight is organizing to stop these bills from getting through a vote tomorrow.

In a moment, we’ll outline the dangerous voter suppression bills that extremists are trying to ram through the Georgia legislature right now — restricting the freedom to vote and undermining our elections. But first, we have to ask if you can help stop them, because the clock is ticking.
If we can block SB 221 and SB 222 — which would eliminate ballot drop boxes, make it easier to kick Georgians off of voter rolls, and add felony penalties for counties that accept external funding for elections — from passing through a Senate vote by the legislature's Monday deadline, we may keep them off the table for the rest of the year. Until then, we’re spending every possible minute organizing and advocating against them.
