Greetings Michigan Democrats!
I am honored and humbled that you have elected me for another term as Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party. I’m proud of all we have accomplished over the past four years to elect Democrats up and down the ticket— from President Joe Biden to school boards throughout the state— and I can’t wait for more wins over the next two years.
Some of our victories are paying off as Michigan Democrats start to deliver. On gun safety, LGBTQ+ rights, abortion protections and more, Governor Whitmer and state legislative leaders are keeping our promises, protecting basic human rights, and building a state that allows every Michigander to thrive. Over the next few months, Michigan will show the nation how Democrats can help working people.
Meanwhile, Michigan Republicans are in disarray as they continue using their same old playbook: pushing extremism and election denial while opposing commonsense legislation at the Capitol.
But now is not the time to fall asleep at the switch — to protect everything we’ve won we have to double down on our hard work. We can’t take the “off year” off, and we can’t count on our opponents to drop the ball.
That’s why myself and the MDP are working relentlessly to recruit candidates, build local parties through Project 83, and get our message out. We are making it clear that the Michigan Democratic Party won’t rest on our laurels. But we can’t do this work without your support. If you want to get more involved, you can learn how to take action HERE.
Finally, this month marks the beginning of Women’s History Month. Michigan Democrats are lucky to have women in critical leadership positions, but we know there is so much more work to do to achieve true equality. Let’s take this month to recommit ourselves to that fight.
Stay safe and healthy, and I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.
