Hey --
Citizens of Flint, Michigan have been dealing with the ongoing nightmare of tainted water for over five years now. But it’s not just Flint dealing with these issues. Schools in Camden have been handing out bottled water for 17 years, and schools in Philadelphia are dealing with lead in their water pipes as well.
And now Trump is threatening to veto House legislation seeking to regulate toxic chemicals that have been found in water and linked to health problems like cancer.
Conservative enablers are poisoning Flint and other cities, and thousands of Black and Brown children have been exposed to drinking water with unhealthy levels of lead. Communities of color and low-income communities experience the impacts of environmental issues first and worst -- so it's vital we remember that environmental issues are racial justice issues.
We need experienced leaders who face up to reality and make the right science-driven choices when it comes to what’s best for our families and the environment. As a state representative and congressman, I’ve prioritized cleaning up the Schuylkill River and Delaware River, taken action to protect and expand green, open spaces, and fought against dangerous actions by Trump's Environmental Protection Agency to roll back environmental protections.
But now I want to know how important these issues are to you, John. Take this short poll to let me know today >>
Thanks,
Dwight
