We’re expecting a ruling to come down in the medication abortion case any day now — and we’re bracing for the worst. 

A Trump-appointed conservative judge in Texas has been asked to reverse FDA approval of mifepristone — one drug of the two-step medication abortion regimen, which accounts for more than 50% of abortions in the United States. 

If the judge rules against mifepristone, this ban would take effect nationwide, even in states that protect the right to abortion like California and New York. It would have disastrous consequences for abortion access in the U.S., leading to backlogs at clinics and an increase in unsafe at-home abortions. 

We don’t know exactly when this ruling will be announced or what it will say, but we’re gearing up for the worst possible outcome. We’ll immediately mobilize and we want your support when we do.
