If Ruben can win, it will prove once again that Democrats can vote to lower drug prices, expand voting rights, and raise the minimum wage even in the swingiest of states.

If Ruben can win, it will show that even the son of immigrants who grew up poor and cleaned bathrooms to afford college can get elected to the United States Senate.

It will show that a candidate relying on small-dollar donations can get elected to the Senate even against overwhelming money from payday lenders, hedge fund managers and the drug companies.

But Ruben cannot do this alone. No one person could. This campaign is about more than him and will require more than him to win.
