Dear John

Happy new year from all of us at Church Action on Poverty.  We hope you've already seen our first newsletterof the new decade, where we take the opportunity to review what we’ve achieved over the past year and decade, but also look ahead to what we can do together to loosen the grip of UK poverty over the next few years.

On Church Action on Poverty Sunday, 23 February, we will be launching our new three year ‘Speaking Truth to Power’ programme, in which we will be supporting people and communities struggling against poverty across the UK to come together to speak truth to power.  For us, this is about putting our faith into action, and we hope you will want to join us in this work!

Can you help us kickstart the programme by asking your church to take a collection, or organise a simple soup lunch on (or around) 23 February, to raising funds to enable more people to speak truth to power?

We’re well on our way to reaching our target of 200 churches across the country, who have committed to raise funds to help launch the Speaking Truth to Power programme on Church Action on Poverty Sunday. It would be fantastic if you could help us reach the target!

Thanks and best wishes

PS Every bit of support makes a difference. Just FIFTY people giving £10 each could support another local partner to speak truth to power!
