This week in Washington, the Committee on the Strategic Competition Between
the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) held our first hearing.



There is one thing I wanted to make clear to everyone around the world: the
Chinese Communist Party is a threat to the United States. It is the threat of
our lifetime.



The Chinese Communist Party seeks to undermine us at home and abroad: they
actively threaten us militarily, they exploit our financial systems, and they
insidiously attempt to shape the thoughts and viewpoints of our children
through their use of media.



I will not stand for that.
